XAT 2020: Application, Criteria, Syllabus, & Exam Dates

The Xavier Aptitude Test, XAT 2020 is mainly a university level entrance test that has been conducted by Xavier Labor Relations Institute (XLRI) at all India level for offering the admission into management field. XAT score is also applicable to 150 institutions or top B-schools for the admission. In order to know complete details regarding XAT 2020, candidates must read the following.

XAT 2020: Application Form

XAT 2020 application form was available online and has been started from 23rd August 2019 and the process carried on till 10th December 2019. The application form was available only through online mode at the official site and candidates were asked to fill it online itself by filling personal and qualification details along with attaching your photograph and signature.

Eligibility Criteria for XAT 2020

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria in advance for applying to XAT examination. As far as nationality is considered, Indian national, foreign will be eligible for applying for XAT. Foreign & NRI candidates are also eligible and they can apply through GMAT score. Those candidates who have qualified 3 years Bachelor degree or its equivalent degree will also be qualified to apply. However, there is no minimum percentage and age limit required to apply for XAT.

XAT 2020: Exam Pattern

XAT 2020 is basically an online mode examination which includes MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) that every candidate has to complete within three hours. Every correct answer will give you one mark while for each incorrect answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. Also, if there will be more than 12 unattempted questions, then also there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks. XAT 2020 exam was also divided into two parts: part 1 and part 2.

XAT 2020: Syllabus

XAT examination comprised of syllabus which includes topics from Decision Making, Verbal and Logical Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge, and Essay Writing. The full syllabus for the exam was also available to the official online portal from where candidates can check the complete topics which would be asked in the question paper.

XAT 2020: Preparation Tips

Prepare a scheduled time table for each topic so that you can cover your whole syllabus without missing any. Candidates must give a try to the mock test on a regular basis, which is going to help them to understand where they are lacking. Prepare notes and try to solve previous year’s question papers.

XAT 2020: Answer Key

The answer key for XAT 2020 was released on 9th January 2020 before the announcement of result. The answer key helps the candidates to check their answers which they have given in the examination as it includes answers of all the questions from the question paper. Candidates can also raise the objection regarding any question if any.

XAT 2020: Cut-Off Marks

The candidate requires equal or more than the cutoff marks that has been decided by the official authority to qualify XAT 2020 examination and to get selected for the particular college for the admission.  The cut-off marks were released along with the declaration of the result so that the candidates can check whether they qualified for the exam or not.

XAT 2020: Application Fee

In order to apply for XAT 2020, the candidates have to first go through the registration process for which they have to submit an application and at the end, an amount would also be paid through online mode. The application fee for XAT 2020 is Rs1700 (without late fee). All those candidates who are interested in XLRI have to pay additional charges of Rs.300 each. In case of late fee, the candidates have to pay Rs 2000 and Rs. 500 each as additional charges for those candidates who are interested in XLRI. Candidates have to pay the application fee through online mode by using a credit card, debit card or net banking.

XAT 2020: Admit Card

The admit card for XAT 2020 was available online on 20th December 2019 and all those candidates who have successfully registered themselves for XAT 2020 were able to check and download their card through the official site. The candidates can also take a printout of admit card and keep it secured till the examination date and the announcement of the result. It is compulsory for all the candidates to bring a hard copy of the admit card along with ID proof on the day of examination at the examination hall otherwise entry would be restricted.

XAT 2020: Result Announcement

After the examination was held successfully, the result of XAT 2020 has been announced by XLRI on 17th January 2020. All the candidates who have qualified the examination were called for the GD & PI round. In order to check the result, candidates have to key in the enrolment number and other credential details at the online portal.

XAT 2020: Merit List

The merit list of XAT 2020 was announced just after the announcement of the result which was declared on 17th January 2020. The merit list was decided by the Board on the basis of scores that have been obtained by the candidates in the examination. Based on the merit list ranking, the seats will be allocated to the candidates in the participating institutions.

XAT 2020: Counselling Process

For the XAT admission into several management programmes, many partaking institutions are going to declare their individual cut off marks. Candidates are required to qualify the individual cut off score of their respective institute in order to be chosen for the admission. There will be no centralized counselling to be conducted for the admission.

All the candidates who get shortlisted are going to be intimated by several contributing institutions. After that those selected candidates have to take part in the Written Ability, Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds at the selected institutions within the pre-arranged time period. At last, the registered candidates are going to be permitted to fill their choice of the course as well as their choice of college for the admission. After a detailed verification process of the documents, the admission is going to be granted to the candidates.
