About National Overseas Scholarship 2022
National Overseas Scholarship is beneficial for students who are from scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, and another category, struggling hard to continue their higher studies due to lack of funds and backward scenarios. the Students are able to Apply for National Overseas Scholarship so that they can continue their education and get ahead in their Careers without any financial burden. This Scheme is going to improve the Economic and Social Status of the Students. Through this Scheme every year 100 Scholarships are offered subject to the Availability of the Funds. Students will get Financial assistance for Pursuing the Master’s Courses and Ph.D. abroad in the Universities and Institutions which are accredited by the Government or authorized Body of that Country.
Objectives of National Overseas Scholarship
The Main Objective of the National Overseas Scholarship Scheme is to encourage the Students of the Reserved Category to Pursue their Higher Education. Through this Scheme, all the Students of these categories will be given Financial assistance to Study Abroad.
Benefits of National Overseas Scholarship
Under National Overseas Scholarship Scheme eligible Students will be given Scholarships to Study abroad for Postgraduate and Research. In this Scholarship, there are no expenses will be paid for Seminars, Workshops, Conferences, Education, and more. This Scheme is especially for Scheduled Cast Students. The Scholarship will be given to the students until they finish their Education.
Mode Of Application And Number of Seats
All the Eligible Students can submit their Applications in Offline Mode. To Apply in this, the Applicant has to Go to its official web Portal and fill its Form Online, and then Send a Hard Copy to the Official Address of the Ministry of Social Justice. A Total of 100 Students can be given the Benefit under this Scheme. Out of which 90 Seats are available for scheduled caste (SC) students, 6 for tribal area students, and the remaining 4 seats for students whose Father is an agricultural laborer.

Student Eligibility Criteria For National Overseas Scholarship
The Students who want to Apply For National Overseas Scholarship must follow these Eligibility Criteria:
- The Candidates Age Should be below 35 Years as of April 1st according to Academic Year.
- The Annual Income of Family should be less than 6 Lakh INR from all Sources. A copy of the latest Tax assessment should be enclosed with the Application Form.
- Only one child of the Same Parents is able to Eligible for this Scholarship.
- Candidates need to Obtain Valid Scores in Tests Like IELTS, PTE, GMAT, GRE, and others.
- Any Applicants can be awarded only once in their life.
- Candidates who are employed are able to directly apply to the Ministry through Online Portal. However, the Application is valid only if there is a recommendation and NOC from an employer.
- For Master’s, Degree Candidates need to have Scored a Minimum of 55% or an Equivalent Grade in a related Bachelor’s Degree. also 2 Years of Work Experience in the concerned field is preferable.
- For Ph.D. Degree Candidates need to have Scored a Minimum of 55% or an Equivalent Grade in a related Bachelor’s Degree. also 2 Years of Professional /Research /Teaching Experience in the concerned field is preferable.
- For Post Graduate Degree Candidates need to have Scored a Minimum of 55% or an Equivalent Grade in a related Master’s degree And PhD. also, 5 Years of Professional /Research /Teaching Experience in the concerned field is preferable.
National Overseas Scholarship Rewards
All the Selected Students can pursue their higher education in the USA, UK, Germany, Australia, and many other countries. The chosen Students need to avail of National Overseas Scholarship Rewards within one Year from receiving an intimation from the ministry. If they don’t respond within the stipulated time, National Overseas Scholarship Rewards will automatically be canceled. The following awards will be provided to the Students in the National Overseas scholarship:
- The Annual Maintenance allowance of 15,400 US Dollars for students in the USA and 9,900 Great Britain Pound for students in the UK
- Provided Health insurance expenses and airfares as per the course and country
- 30% of the rewards are reserved for Female Students.

National Overseas Scholarship Selection Process
The Applicant needs to Follow these Selection Processes in order to apply for this Scholarship:
- All the Applications will be Put before Screening Committee for shortlisting the candidates on basis of the information provided and on basis of Merit.
- All the Shortlisted Candidates will be present themselves before the selection Committee for Personal Interviews.
- The Call Letter will be provided on the Ministry’s website for the shortlisted candidates. the Call Latter is an invitation to the Personal Interview.
- The performance will be given to the Applicants who have already taken admission to Foreign Universities.
