The National Level Entrance Examination of CEED 2020 has been conducted by IIT Bombay on 18th January 2020 on behalf of MHRD, Government of India. It was conducted at around 24 cities across India. This entrance exam has been organized every year for offering admission into M. Des and PhD programmes. It is essential for every interested candidate who wants to get admission in these courses. All the qualified students can get the admission into M.Des in several well-known institutions such as IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati, IITDM Jabalpur, IIT Kanpur, IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT and various other institutions.
Application Form
The registration process of CEED 2020 started from 9th October 2019 and the application form was available online at the official site. The application form includes several inquiries regarding the candidate’s personal and education information. Along with the details, candidates were also asked to attach their photograph and signature in the prescribed format. There has been no correction facility available for CEED 2020 application form therefore, candidates were asked to provide their details correctly. The last date for application form submission was 15th November 2019 and with a late fee, the last date was 20th November 2019.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to appear in the CEED 2020 examination, aspirants must fulfil the eligibility criteria. As far as their education is considered, applying candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design/Interior Design or its equivalent from a recognized board or university. There is no age limit for appearing in the CEED 2020 entrance exam. Aspirants can also apply based on their GATE 2020 Score. In addition, those candidates who are in their final year of graduation are also eligible for applying for the entrance test.

Exam Pattern
The examination of CEED 2020 has been conducted online on 18th January 2020 in two parts Part A and Part B. However, Part B of the examination was drawing based and was conducted in offline mode. Part A includes 3 sections with multiple select types as well as numerical answer type questions whereas Part B includes drawing-based questions. Candidates got total 3 hours i.e., Part A-1 hour; Part B- 2 hours for solving the question paper. The question paper including Part A and Part B has been of 100 marks each. The medium for answering the question paper was in the English language. There’s been 25 per cent weightage of marks to be given in Part A along with 75 per cent weightage to Part B.
Syllabus
The syllabus of CEED 2020 for Part A will include the topics from Environmental and Social Awareness; Visualization and Spatial Ability; Language and Creativity; Analytical and Logical Reasoning; Observation and Design Sensitivity; and Design Thinking and Problem-solving. On the other hand, Part B will include various topics from Drawing, Communication skills, Problem Identification skills, and Creativity.
Preparation Tips
In order to prepare for the examination, candidates must prepare a complete routine by dividing the syllabus which they need to follow thoroughly every day. Review the exam pattern and marking scheme of the examination to be prepared in advance. Solving sample papers and previous year papers would be a great help for knowing the question trends. Revise the notes that you have made a few days before the examination.
Answer Key
Soon after the entrance test is conducted, CEED Answer key has been released by the board online. The answer key has been released on 21st January 2020 and was published in PDF format. In addition to that, the candidates were asked to send their objections, if any, that is related to answer key till the last date of 27th January 2020. Later on 4th February 2020, the final Answer key has been released online.
Cut-Off Marks
In order to get selected for the further step of admission rounds, candidates must secure minimum cut off marks. As soon as candidates clear the “Part A” exam, candidates will be asked to appear for the examination of “Part B”. There are 90 per cent cut-off marks for shortlisting OBC-NCL candidates of the open category. On the other hand, for ST/SC/PWD candidates, the cut off will be 50 per cent of the open category.
Application Fee
The CEED 2020 Application Fee has been asked to get submitted by the applying candidates in online mode through debit card, credit card or net banking. The application fee differs on the basis of different categories such as for SC/ST/PwD and women candidates, the fee is Rs.1300 and for all other candidates, it is Rs.2600. There will be an additional Rs. 500 fee for late registration.
Admit Card
The admit card of CEED 2020 has been released from 27th December 2019 by the authorities on online mode. Only registered candidates can get access to their hall ticket and can also download it with the help of their registration id and password. The hall ticket of CEED 2020 includes important details such as candidate’s name, roll number, photograph, signature, exam date & centre, among many. Admit card is a very essential document required to be carried on the examination centre at the day of examination by the candidates.
Result Announcement
The result has been released on March 1 after the exam was conducted on January 18. The result has been available at the official site and students can check their CEED result by entering their login credential such as registration id/email id and date of birth/password in order to get the access. The candidates who have successfully qualified both Part A and Part B of the CEED 2020 examination can be shortlisted in the merit list and will move on to the further admission procedure.
Counselling/ Admission Process
The Counselling and Admission process is going to be held based on the scores of CEED 2020. In the process, qualified candidates have to apply in several respective institutions. There will be no admission or counselling procedure going to be conducted by the board for CEED 2020 Admission.
The individual institutions are going to conduct an aptitude test or interview for qualified students. After that their aptitude test or their interview performance will be analyzed along with the total score achieved in the entrance exam and then the admission will be provided.
