The Date for Conducting Common Admission Test (CAT) 2020 Exam is finally out now and the examination is going to be held by IIM in various cities in India in the month of November, this year. Common Admission Test is basically a national level entrance examination that has been conducted every year by the IIMS on a rotational basis. Passing out with this entrance test helps the students to get admission into management programmes in several notable colleges as well as institutions and more than 1200 other business schools that are located across India. CAT 2020: Application Form
The registration of CAT 2020 is going to start in the last week of July and by the third week of September, the process is going to conclude. IIM Indore is likely to conduct the CAT examination for this year. For the successful completion of the registration process, the candidates are first required to fill an application form which is available online on the official portal and at last, for this, they have to pay the fee to register for the exam.
Eligibility Criteria for CAT 2020
In order to apply for CAT 2020, the candidates must have a graduation degree with an aggregate of 50 per cent marks or else it must be equal to CGPA (45 per cent for reserved category). Having a professional degree such as CA/CS/ICWA with 50 per cent marks will also make the candidates eligible for CAT 2020. If the aspirants are at their final year of graduation degree then also they are eligible for applying for CAT examination.

CAT 2020: Exam Pattern
The CAT 2020 will be held in two-time slot one is morning and another is afternoon schedule. The morning schedule will be held between 9 am and 12 pm and afternoon schedule will start from 2 pm and will end at 5 pm. There will be three sections available in the question paper and candidates should complete their question paper 60 minutes per section. The total number of questions will be 100 which will be of total 300 marks. Three marks will be allotted for each right answers, 1/3 negative marking for each wrong MCQ and no negative marking for the non-MCQs.
Syllabus of CAT 2020
CAT 2020 syllabus is going to consist of some important topics that the candidates will get from the main three sections such as Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA). Preparation Tips for CAT 2020
The first thing that the candidates must do is to first prepare a time table that you should follow thoroughly. Prepare everything that is in the syllabus for this you can keep small notes so that don’t miss out anything. Prepare by solving sample papers and previous year question papers.
CAT 2020: Answer Key
Before the result will be declared of CAT 2020, IIMCAT will release the answer key in advance which includes right answers of all the questions that were asked in the question paper. This helps the candidates to check and estimate their scores. However, if you have any objection regarding any question, you can raise the objection. For raising objection a certain amount of fee is paid but if your objection turned out to be correct, the money will be refunded to you after that.
CAT 2020: Cut-Off Marks
In order to qualify the CAT exam, candidates must have to score equal or above the CAT 2020 cut-off marks. However, the date for releasing the cut off marks is not revealed yet but it will be notified soon. The candidates should also take note that those candidates, who are going to meet the CAT 2020 cut off, will later be called for WAT-GD/PI round.
CAT 2020: Application Fee
In order to get registered for the examination of CAT 2020, candidates have to first fill the application form where all your personal and qualification details are asked and at last, you have to submit your photograph along with the signature of yours. The application filing or registration process gets completed when you pay the requisite amount of fees that have been asked from each candidate to pay. For this year in CAT 2020, the application fee for General/NC-OBC category is Rs 1,900 and for SC/ST/PWD/EWS category it is of Rs 950.
CAT 2020: Admit Card
The admit card for CAT 2020 is going to be issued only to the registered candidates 10-15 days before the date of examination. The admit cards will be released on the official site and from there it can be downloaded. Candidates must download their CAT admit card before the examination date and should also carry it to the examination hall as entry without admit card will be restricted.
CAT 2020: Result
The result for CAT 2020 is scheduled to be announced in the first week of January next year. The result cum scorecard is going to be available for the candidates for downloading on the official online portal of the IIMCAT. The CAT 2020 result is going to include the information of the candidates along with detailed scores and percentage scored will also be mentioned. The candidates who will qualify CAT 2020, then their result will be valid for the admission to MBA batch of 2021-2023.
CAT 2020: Admission Process
The IIM shortlists candidates from the CAT 2020 examination will move to the second stage of selection individually. The selection procedure will consist of a Written Ability Test (WAT) and after that a Personal Interview (PI). One must take note that the performance of every candidate in the CAT 2020 examination is going to play an important role in the overall selection procedure.
